- REMOVE the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature (EGRT) cooler outlet temperature sensor and INSPECT for signs of coolant. If coolant is present, REMOVE the EGR cooler and pressure test. REFER to
ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL
. INSPECT for blockage or coolant intrusion. REPAIR as necessary.

- DRAIN and FILL with specified oil.

- CHANGE oil as recommended.

- INSTALL a new turbocharger-to-pedestal gasket. REFER to the Disassembly and Assembly of the Turbocharger . TEST the system for normal operation.

- Restricted breather system

- INSPECT the breather system. REPAIR as necessary.
|
- Excessive coolant consumption (white exhaust smoke) or leaks
|
- Turbocharger coolant tube or fittings leaking
|
|
- Turbocharger side cup plug failure
|
- INSTALL a new turbocharger. REFER to Turbocharger . TEST the system for normal operation.
|
- Turbocharger-to-pedestal gasket failure
|
- INSTALL a new turbocharger-to-pedestal gasket. REFER to the Disassembly and Assembly of the Turbocharger . TEST the system for normal operation.
|
|
|
- Loose connections or damage to air intake hoses and tubes
|
- TIGHTEN hose clamps. INSPECT for damage and REPAIR as necessary.
|
- Air leaks at intake manifold or CAC
|
|
- Leaks at turbocharger inlet and outlet connections
|
|
- Exhaust leaks at turbocharger housing, exhaust manifolds, turbocharger inlet pipes
|
- INSPECT for leaks. Leaks can usually be detected audibly or visually, by a discoloration caused by escaping hot exhaust gases. REPAIR as required.

|
|
- INSTALL a new turbocharger. REFER to Turbocharger . TEST the system for normal operation.
