Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty and 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the 10 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
  2. NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    Remove the bolts and the 10 ignition coil-on-plugs.

    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) .
  3. NOTE: Verify that the ignition coil-on-plug spring is correctly located inside the ignition coil-on-plug boot and that there is no damage to the tip of the boot.

    To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    • Apply a light coat of dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots.
