Inspection and Verification - Fuel Tank Selector Valve, Diesel Engines

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Damaged fuel tank selector valve
    • Bent, kinked or damaged fuel tubes
    • Open fuse
    • Body Control Module (BCM) fuse 36 (10A)
    • Damaged wiring harness
    • Loose or corroded connections
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  4. If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and GO to SYMPTOM CHART - FUEL TANK SELECTOR VALVE .
