Disassembly and Assembly

  1. To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps as identified in the following table.
    SEAT CUSHION COMPONENTS - REMOVAL STEPS

    Part Steps
    Cushion Cover 2, 3, 6 and 7
    Driver Seat Module (DSM) 9
    Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM) 10
    Seat Control Switch For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, BUCKET SEAT .
    Seat Cushion Thermo-Electric Device (TED) 2, 4 and 5
    Seat Cushion TED filter 5
    Seat Track 2-6 and 8-13
  2. Remove the seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT, BUCKET SEAT .
  3. Remove the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, BUCKET SEAT .
  4. NOTE: Bottom view shows hidden retainers to be released from the top.

    From under the seat, separate the cushion TED.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Disengage the 2 rear retainers.
      • Push one cushion support wire inboard while pushing the TED outboard. Repeat for the other retainer.
    3. Disengage the front retainers.

  5. Rotate and remove the cushion TED.
    • Turn the cushion TED filter counterclockwise and remove.

  6. Detach the cushion cover J-clips from the seat track.
    • If necessary, remove the cushion cover and foam pad from the cushion frame.
  7. Remove the cushion cover.
    1. Disengage the cushion foam pad clips from the cushion cover plastic strips.
      • Pry open one end of the clip and roll the plastic strip out of the clip.
    2. Separate the hook-and-loop strips and remove the cushion cover.
  8. Remove the bolt and safety belt buckle.
    • For the driver seat, disconnect and detach the safety belt buckle switch electrical connector and wire harness.
    • To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
  9. NOTE: If installing a new DSM, refer to DRIVER SEAT MODULE (DSM)  for Programmable Module Installation (PMI) instruction.

    If equipped, remove the screws, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the DSM.

  10. NOTE: If installing a new DCSM, refer to DUAL CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEAT MODULE (DCSM)  for PMI instruction.

    If equipped, remove the DCSM in the following sequence.

    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Release the locking wedges on the 2 DCSM electrical connectors.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    4. Remove the DCSM.

  11. If equipped, remove the cushion wire harness.
    • Note the cushion wire harness routing for assembly.
  12. Disengage the pin-type retainers and remove the seat track foot covers.
  13. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
