Removal and Installation

  1. Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
  2. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.

  3. Disconnect the parking brake release handle cable and conduit from the parking brake control.

  4. Remove the 3 parking brake control nuts and position the parking brake control aside.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  5. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release handle.
  6. Position the parking brake cable and conduit grommet through the floor pan and remove the parking brake control.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
