Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - F-250, F-350: Removal

- Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
Remove the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
- Support the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly using mechanic's wire.
- Remove the grease cap.
- Remove the cotter pin, wheel spindle nut retainer, nut and flat washer.
- Discard the wheel spindle nut.

NOTE: Inspect the condition of the wheel spindle and threads, clean or install new components as necessary.
Remove the outer wheel bearing, then remove the brake disc and hub assembly.

NOTE: Do not damage the wheel bearing cage while removing. A damaged wheel bearing cage may cause premature bearing failure.
Using a suitable slide hammer and bearing seal remover, remove the inner wheel bearing seal and bearing.
