Wheel and Tire - Dual Rear Wheel (DRW): Removal

  1. If equipped, remove the wheel cover.
  2. Check the torque for all the wheel nuts. If any wheel nuts have a torque above 312 Nm (230 lb-ft), install all new wheel studs on that wheel hub. For additional information, refer to REAR SUSPENSION .
  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  4. NOTE: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut or damage to the wheel and wheel bearing can occur.

    Remove the wheel nuts.

  5. NOTE: On vehicles equipped with 19.5-in and larger wheels, use Rotunda Heavy Duty Wheel Dolly 014-00030 or equivalent to aid in the removal of the wheel and tire assemblies.

    Remove the outer and inner wheel and tire assemblies.
