Seat Backrest - Power: Removal

  1. NOTE: To remove the RH seat backrest, the LH outboard pivot cover must be removed before the RH outboard pivot cover can be removed.

    Pry to release the clips and remove the LH RH seat outboard pivot cover.

  2. Pry to release the clips and remove the backrest latch outer cover.
    • Pull the release strap through the recliner outer cover, if equipped.
  3. With the backrest upright, detach the head restraint release cable and conduit from the latch.
  4. Release the backrest cover lower J-clip, open the cover and separate the inner hook-and-loop strips.
  5. Route out the head restraint release cable from between the latch and inboard latch cover.
  6. Remove the pivot bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 54 Nm (40 lb-ft).
  7. Roll the backrest cover up and remove the 2 backrest latch-to-backrest frame bolts. Remove the backrest assembly.
    • To install, tighten to 83 Nm (61 lb-ft).
