Removal And Installation: Liftgate: Removal

NOTE:
Manual liftgate shown, power liftgate similar.
- Remove the bolt at the liftgate and position the ground strap aside.
- Position aside the liftgate opening weatherstrip.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. REFER to LIFTGATE TRIM PANEL .
- Disconnect the center high-mount stop lamp electrical connector.

Disconnect the heated backlight electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.
- Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
- Remove the wiring harness pushpin retainers.
- Remove the wiring harness boot at the liftgate opening and route the wiring harness out of the liftgate.
- Remove the rear washer hose boot at the body and disconnect the washer hose.

Loosen but do not remove the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.
- Manually support the liftgate.

Disconnect the liftgate supports at the liftgate.
- With the help of an assistant, remove the liftgate-to-hinge bolts and remove the liftgate.
