Rear Wiper Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When the wiper/washer switch is in the INT 1 or INT 2 position, the SCCM  sends the request to the windshield wiper motor through the LIN  . When the request is received, the windshield wiper motor supplies a ground signal to an integral relay within the rear window wiper motor which activates the motor. The position of the wiper/washer switch determines how often the windshield wiper motor supplies the ground signal. The rear window wiper motor is self parking.
