Pinpoint Test X: B1A69:11, B1A69:15

  1. X1 CHECK FOR HVAC MODULE DTCs 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform a HVAC  module self-test.

    Are DTCs C1B14:11 or C1B14:12 present? 

    1. Yes  : GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
    2. No  : GO to X2  .
  2. X2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE IN-VEHICLE TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSOR 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: In-Vehicle Temperature and Humidity Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2247-3  VOLTAGE Ground

    Is the voltage between 4.7 and 5 volts? 

    1. Yes  : For DTC  B1A69:11, GO to X3  .

      For DTC  B1A69:15, GO to  X4.

    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  3. X3 CHECK THE HUMIDITY SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: HVAC  Module C228A
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2247-4  OHM Ground

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    1. Yes  : GO to  X6.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  4. X4 CHECK THE HUMIDITY SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: HVAC  Module C228B.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2247-4  OHM C228B-18 

    Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? 

    1. Yes  : GO to X5  .
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  5. X5 CHECK THE HUMIDITY SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2247-4  VOLTAGE Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    1. Yes  : REPAIR the circuit.
    2. No  : GO to X6  .
  6. X6 ISOLATE THE IN-VEHICLE TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSOR 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Connect: HVAC  Module C228A.
    • Connect: HVAC  Module C228B.
    • Install a new in-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor. REFER to IN-VEHICLE TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform a HVAC  module self-test.

    Does the DTC return? 

    1. Yes  : GO to X7  .
    2. No  : The cause of the concern was an inoperative in-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor.
  7. X7 CHECK FOR CORRECT HVAC MODULE OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect all HVAC  module connectors.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the HVAC  module connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    1. Yes  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB  exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB  instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new HVAC  module. Refer to HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MODULE .
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
