Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
The system automatically detects and tracks the road lane markings using a camera that is mounted behind the interior rear view mirror.
The system must be turned on with the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) switch each time the vehicle is started. The system can be turned off by pressing the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) switch a second time. The system is defaulted to off each time the vehicle is started, unless a MyKey® is detected. If a MyKey® is detected, the system is defaulted to on and the system cannot be turned off. Only the Mode, Sensitivity and Intensity settings can be changed when a MyKey® is present.
The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system only operates above 64 kmh (40 mph), and as long as one lane marking can be detected by the camera.
The system can be suppressed at any time by pressing the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) switch.
The system can be temporarily suppressed at any time by:
- Quick braking
- Fast acceleration
- Using the turn signal indicator
- Evasive steering maneuver
