Seat Backrest - 60 Percent: Installation

  1. Position the backrest and hand start all the recliner-to-backrest frame bolts and the pivot bolt.
  2. Install the bolts in the following sequence.
    1. Install the inboard recliner-to-backrest frame lower bolt.
      • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    2. Install the inboard recliner-to-backrest frame upper bolt.
      • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    3. Install the 2 outboard recliner-to-backrest bolts.
      • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    4. Install the pivot bolt.
      • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  3. Position the inboard pivot cover and install the 3 inboard pivot cover screws.
  4. Install the outboard pivot cover.
  5. Position the safety belt anchor to the inboard recliner and install the bolt.
    1. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  6. Reposition the backrest foam pad and cover around the backrest frame.
  7. If equipped with an armrest, attach the J-clips in the armrest pocket.
  8. If equipped, install the armrest. Refer to ARMREST .
  9. Close the backrest cover.
    1. Attach the hook-and-loop strips, install the 4 pin-type retainers and attach all the J-clips.
  10. Position the cushion foam pad and cover assembly back on the cushion frame.
    1. Attach all the cushion cover retainers and J-clips.
  11. Install the 60 percent seat. Refer to SEAT .
