Symptom Chart: Seating - Memory

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION - SEATING - MEMORY

Condition Possible Sources Actions
No communication with the DSM 
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • DSM 
REFER to GO TO PINPOINT TEST O .
The power seat moves but is noisy (squeals) when moving the seat horizontally
  • Front seat motor cable
INSTALL a new front seat motor cable. REFER to FRONT SEAT MOTOR CABLE .
The memory seat is inoperative, does not operate correctly - does not operate horizontally, vertically or recline
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Seat control switch
  • Horizontal seat track motor
  • Memory seat track assembly
  • DSM 
GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
The memory seat does not operate correctly - does not operate using the memory set switch
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Memory set switch
  • Missing status information - MS-CAN 
  • Horizontal seat track motor
  • Memory seat track assembly
  • DSM 
GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
The memory seat does not operate correctly - the seat moves in one-second intervals
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Horizontal seat track motor
  • Memory seat track assembly
  • DSM 
CARRY OUT the DSM  self-test and retrieve any DTCs  . Refer to SEATING .
The memory seat does not operate correctly - the seat does not move to the correct memory position
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Memory set switch
  • Horizontal seat track motor
  • Memory seat track assembly
  • DSM 
CARRY OUT the DSM  self-test and retrieve any DTCs  . Refer to SEATING .
The memory seat does not operate correctly - does not operate using the RKE  feature
  • Intelligent Access (IA) key is not correctly associated to a memory position
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • DSM 
  • BCM 
VERIFY the RKE  feature is operating correctly and is associated to a memory position. REFER to the Owner's Literature, REFER to REMOTE MEMORY ACTIVATION (With Intelligent Access). CARRY OUT the DSM  self-test and Refer to SEATING .
Easy entry/easy exit is inoperative, does not operate correctly
  • Easy entry/exit feature is not enabled
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Missing status information - MS-CAN 
  • Key-in-ignition switch
  • DSM 
GO to PINPOINT TEST K .
