Parking Brake Control: Installation

  1. Position the parking brake control front cable through the hole and seat the grommet.
  2. Position back the parking brake control onto the studs.
  3. Install the two parking brake control bolts.
    • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  4. Install the parking brake control nut.
    • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  5. Position back the carpet.
  6. Connect the parking brake switch electrical connector.
  7. Install the scuff plate trim panel and the lower cowl side trim panel. REFER to SCUFF PLATE TRIM PANEL
  8. Install the BCM-B and bracket. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS , REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS
  9. NOTE: Make sure that the cable-to-cable union is connected to the front and rear cable before removing the brake control retaining pin and that the cable tension is reloaded slowly.

    Connect the front parking brake cable at the cable-to-cable union and remove the brake control retaining pin.

  10. Inspect the parking brake system for correct operation.
