Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The TCIL, located in the Instrument Cluster (IC), will illuminate the graphic O/D OFF when the O/D OFF switch is pressed. Operation of the TCIL is controlled by the PCM to alert the driver that the O/D OFF mode is active. Pressing the O/D OFF switch again will turn off the TCIL and restore automatic upshifts from 1st through 6th gears or the next ignition cycle.

The PCM may command the TCIL on if certain transmission DTCs are detected.
