Roof Opening Panel Frame: Removal

NOTE:
The roof opening panel motor(s) must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including whenever:
Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION - SLIDING GLASS PANEL and Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION - SHADE .
- the roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle.
- a new roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel glass has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.
Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION - SLIDING GLASS PANEL and Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION - SHADE .
- If replacing the roof opening panel frame, remove the air deflector. Refer to AIR DEFLECTOR .
- Remove the front sliding glass roof opening panel. Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS - FRONT SLIDING .
- Depower the SRS. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
- Remove the headliner. REFER to HEADLINER .
- Lift the locking wedge and disconnect both Safety Canopy® module electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the 4 roof opening panel drain hoses from the corners of the roof opening panel frame.
- Position both Safety Canopy® modules aside.
- Disconnect the Safety Canopy® module push pins from the roof opening panel frame brackets.
- Remove the Safety Canopy® module bolt on the roof opening panel frame bracket and the Safety Canopy® module bolt located to the left of the bracket on the RH side of vehicle and to the right on the LH side of vehicle and position the Safety Canopy® modules aside.
- Remove the 6 roof opening panel frame bracket bolts and the LH and RH brackets.

NOTE: To avoid damage to the roof opening panel frame, with the aid of an assistant, be sure to support the roof opening panel frame when removing the roof opening panel frame bolts.
With the aid of an assistant, remove the 14 roof opening panel frame bolts and lower and remove the roof opening panel frame through the liftgate.
