Oil Pan - Upper: Removal

  1. Remove the oil level indicator.
  2. Remove the flexplate. For additional information refer to FLEXPLATE .
  3. Remove the oil cooler. For additional information, refer to OIL COOLER .
  4. Remove and discard the oil filter.
  5. Disconnect the Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor and Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) switch electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the nut from the oil filter header and position aside the engine wire harness.
  7. Remove the nut and position aside the transmission cooler tubes.
  8. Remove the nut and position aside the side engine wire harness.
  9. Remove the 2 nuts from the front of the engine and position the engine wire harness aside.
  10. Remove the 25 bolts and the upper oil pan.
    • Remove and discard the gasket.
    • Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces.
