Oil Level Indicator and Tube: Removal

Upper oil level indicator tube 

  1. Position the vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the bolt and position aside the transmission oil level indicator tube.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator.
  4. Remove the bolt for the oil level indicator tube.
  5. From below, remove the oil level indicator tube from the engine rear cover.
  6. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the vehicle.
    • Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.

    Lower oil level indicator tube 

  7. Remove the engine rear cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE REAR COVER .
  8. Remove the 2 bolts and the lower oil level indicator tube.
