Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

  1. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD - UPPER .
  2. Remove the LH turbocharger inlet pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  3. Remove the turbocharger. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - TURBOCHARGER .
  4. Remove the 4 bolts and the LH exhaust manifold heat shield.
  5. Remove the 8 nuts, 8 spacers and the LH exhaust manifold.
    • Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket and nuts.
    • Replace any exhaust manifold stud(s) that is damaged or removed with the nut.
