Engine Support Insulators: Removal

Both engine support insulators
NOTE:
For EXPORT ONLY vehicles (outside US/Canada), an Export Supplement is provided and should be referenced to identify differences that can impact service procedures. Vehicles can be identified by referring to the underhood Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label which states, "Not certified for US EPA or CARB Regulations."
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the turbocharger. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - TURBOCHARGER .
- Install the Engine Removal Bracket and the 4 bolts.
- Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .
- Remove the crankcase vent oil separator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .
- Remove the RH turbocharger inlet pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Remove the engine oil level indicator tube. For additional information, refer to OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE .
- Remove the transmission oil level indicator tube. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - TORQSHIFT 6 .
- Remove the upper cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING - DIESEL ENGINES .

NOTE: Failure to replace the transmission support insulator nuts may result in transmission support insulator damage.NOTE: If the transmission support insulator stud loosens when the transmission support insulator nut is removed, the stud must be discarded and a new stud installed.
Remove and discard the 2 transmission support insulator nuts.
- Remove the transmission cooler tube bracket nut. Disconnect the transmission cooler tube bracket from the stud.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel lines from the bracket on the transmission bellhousing.
- Disconnect the fuel line retainer from the bracket on the left side of the transmission and position the fuel lines aside.
- Remove and discard the engine oil filter.
LH engine support insulator

NOTE: Failure to replace the engine support insulator nuts may result in engine support insulator damage.
Remove and discard the 3 LH engine support insulator nuts.
RH engine support insulator

NOTE: Failure to replace the engine support insulator nuts may result in engine support insulator damage.
Remove and discard the 4 RH engine support insulator nuts.

NOTE: Failure to replace the engine support insulator studs may result in engine support insulator damage.
Remove and discard the 2 engine support insulator studs from the RH engine support insulator.
Both engine support insulators
- Position a Floor Crane and connect to the Engine Removal Bracket.

NOTE: Failure to replace the engine support insulator cross bolts may result in engine support insulator damage.
Remove and discard the RH and LH engine support insulator cross bolts.
- Raise the Floor Crane as needed to get the required lift to remove the RH or LH engine support insulator.
- Position a jackstand or other suitable support device under the engine for safety.
- Remove the RH or LH engine support insulator.
