Exhaust Y-Pipe - 3.5L Ti-VCT: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to SAFETY WARNINGS . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: Do not excessively bend, twist or allow the exhaust to hang from the flexible joint or damage to the exhaust system may occur.
NOTE: Always install new nuts and gaskets. Clean flange faces prior to new gasket installation to make sure of correct sealing.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to JACKING AND LIFTING , Lifting Points.
  2. If equipped, detach the 3 retainers and remove the splash shield.

  3. Loosen the Torca® clamp retainer.

  4. NOTE: Do not damage or tear the isolator during removal.

    Using soapy water, detach the exhaust Y-pipe isolator.

  5. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust Y-pipe-to-Left Hand (LH) catalytic converter manifold nuts and gasket.

  6. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust Y-pipe-to-Right Hand (RH) catalytic converter manifold nuts.
    1. Remove the exhaust Y-pipe.
