Exhaust Y-Pipe - 3.5L Ti-VCT: Installation

NOTE: Do not excessively bend, twist or allow the exhaust to hang from the flexible joint or damage to the exhaust system may occur.
NOTE: Always install new nuts and gaskets. Clean flange faces prior to new gasket installation to make sure of correct sealing.
  1. Install the exhaust Y-pipe with new nuts and gasket and hand-tighten all fasteners.
    1. Attach the exhaust Y-pipe isolator.

  2. Evenly tighten the 2 new exhaust Y-pipe-to-Left Hand (LH) catalytic converter manifold nuts.
    1. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  3. Evenly tighten the 2 new exhaust Y-pipe-to-Right Hand (RH) catalytic converter nuts.
    1. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  4. Tighten the Torca® clamp retainer.
    1. Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

  5. If equipped, install the splash shield and 3 retainers.
