Main Control Cover: Removal

Before beginning any service procedure, refer to SAFETY WARNINGS
. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to JACKING AND LIFTING , Lifting Points.
- Remove the ACL. REFER to INTAKE AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW .
- Remove the 4 retainers and the underbody shield.
- Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain. Install the drain plug.
- Remove the 3 wiring retainers from the main control cover studbolts.
- Loosen the clamp and disconnect the CAC
outlet tube and position it aside.
- Disconnect the transmission main electrical connector.
- Remove the nuts and remove the transmission fluid thermal bypass valve from the main control cover studbolts.

NOTE: Note the location of the studbolts for assembly.
Remove the main control cover bolts and the main control cover.
