Camshaft Phaser and Sprocket: Removal

NOTE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.
  1. Remove the timing drive components. Refer to TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS .
  2. Remove the 2 bolts and the intake and exhaust camshaft phaser and sprockets.

  3. NOTE: Washers are not required for installation of the VCT  units.

    If equipped, discard the washers.
