Exhaust Manifold - RH: Installation

  1. Install 4 new front exhaust manifold studs.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  2. Using 2 new exhaust manifold gaskets and 4 new rear exhaust manifold studs, position the 2 gaskets and exhaust manifold and install the 4 studs.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  3. Using new exhaust manifold nuts, install the 8 nuts in 2 stages in the sequence shown in illustration.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
    • Stage 2: Tighten to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

  4. Position the exhaust manifold heat shield and install the 2 bolts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  5. Install the 4 exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts (2 RH and 2 LH).
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  6. Install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES .
  7. Install the RH inner fenderwell. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
