Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 6R80 .
  2. NOTE: The flexplate bolts are torque-to-yield design and are not reusable.

    Remove the 8 bolts and the flexplate.

    • Discard the bolts.
    • To install, tighten in the sequence shown in illustration in 2 stages.
      • Stage 1: Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
      • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 60 degrees.

  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • After completing the repairs, use the scan tool to perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure, following the on-screen instructions.
