Removal and Installation

- Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the degas bottle. Refer to DEGAS BOTTLE .
- Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the 2 thermostat housing-to-intake manifold hoses and position them aside.
- Disconnect the thermostat housing-to-lower radiator hose assembly and position it aside.
- If equipped, disconnect the thermostat housing-to-oil filter adapter hose and position it aside.
- Disconnect the thermostat housing-to-upper radiator hose and position it aside.
- Remove the 2 nuts and the thermostat housing.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

NOTE: During installation, make sure all the hoses are fully seated against the stops.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
