Thermostat Housing - 3.7L: Installation

Install 2 new O-ring seals and lubricate them with clean engine coolant.
Position the thermostat housing and install the bolts finger tight.
Tighten the 4 thermostat housing bolts in the sequence shown in illustration in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 45 degrees.

Connect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
Connect the coolant return hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
Connect the lower radiator hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
Connect the thermostat housing-to-degas bottle to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
Remove the plastic covering the accessory drive belts.
Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
