Thermostat Housing - 3.7L: Installation

- Install 2 new O-ring seals and lubricate them with clean engine coolant.
- Position the thermostat housing and install the bolts finger tight.
- Tighten the 4 thermostat housing bolts in the sequence shown in illustration in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 45 degrees.
- Connect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
- Connect the coolant return hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
- Connect the lower radiator hose to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
- Connect the thermostat housing-to-degas bottle to the thermostat housing and position the clamp.
- Remove the plastic covering the accessory drive belts.
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
