Removal and Installation

NOTE:
For non-functional ignition lock cylinders, the steering column lock module has to be replaced. For additional information, refer to
STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES
.
- Remove the steering column opening trim panel. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
- Turn the key to the ACC position.
- Insert a small punch into the hole and remove the ignition lock cylinder.
- If a new lock cylinder with keys is replaced, the new Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys must be programmed. For additional information, refer to INTEGRATED KEYHEAD TRANSMITTER (IKT) KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT .
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
