Cylinder Bore Cleaning

Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US); Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada)
XO-5W20-QSP (US); CXO-5W20-LSP12 (Canada)

  1. NOTE: If these procedures are not followed, rusting of the cylinder bores may occur.

    Clean the cylinder bores with soap or detergent and water.

  2. Thoroughly rinse with clean water and wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
  3. Use a clean, lint-free cloth and lubricate the cylinder bores.
    • Use clean engine oil meeting Ford specification.
