DTC P22FF: SCR NOX Catalyst Inlet Temperature Too Low

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
DTC P22FF: SCR NOX CATALYST INLET TEMPERATURE TOO LOW

Description:  The PCM compares several vehicle temperature sensor values to determine a calculated exhaust temperature at the inlet of the SCR catalyst. This DTC sets when the difference between the calculated temperature and the actual temperature measured at the exhaust gas temperature bank 1, sensor 2 (EGT12) sensor exceeds a calibrated threshold.
Possible Causes:
  • EGT12 circuit short to SIGRTN
  • EGT12 circuit short to ground
  • EGT12 circuit short to voltage
  • Exhaust leaks
  • Excessive soot or ash build up on sensor
  • Damaged EGT12 sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Monitor the EGT12 PID between ignition ON, engine OFF and ignition ON, engine running for an indication of a concern.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
All GO to PINPOINT TEST RC .
