DTC P2043: REDUCTANT Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

DTC P2043: REDUCTANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE

Description:  The PCM completes a plausibility check on the reductant temperature sensor after a 6 hour cold soak by comparing the reductant temperature signal to the ambient air temperature and engine coolant temperature signals on startup. This DTC sets when the reductant temperature difference compared to the ambient air temperature and engine coolant temperature is greater than 20°C (36°F).
Possible Causes: 
  • Slow responding reductant temperature sensor
  • Damaged reductant temperature sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Diagnose and repair all circuit DTCs before diagnosing DTC P2043.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
