DTC P1247: TURBOCHARGER BOOST PRESSURE LOW

Description:  This DTC sets when the indicated boost pressure is less than the desired boost pressure by greater than a calibrated value for a calibrated period of time.
Possible Causes:
  • Intake air system leaks between the turbocharger and the intake manifold
  • Variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) slow to respond
  • VGT vanes stuck open
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
Check the tubing and components for cracks and incorrect fitting connections between the turbocharger and the intake manifold.
