DTC P054F: Idle Control System: Fuel Quantity Higher Than Expected

DTC P054F: IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM: FUEL QUANTITY HIGHER THAN EXPECTED

Description:  This DTC sets when the fuel quantity needed for idle control is greater than 30% higher than the highest expected fuel rate.
Possible Causes: 
  • Intake air system restriction
  • Vacuum leaks
  • Exhaust system restriction
  • Engine mechanical concern
  • Sludged throttle body
  • Damaged intake throttle actuator
Diagnostic Aids:  The fuel pressure in the high pressure fuel system can be monitored by accessing the FRP_A PID on the scan tool.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
