DTC P050E: COLD START ENGINE EXHAUST TEMPERATURE TOO LOW
| Description: | The PCM calculates the actual oxidation catalytic converter (OC) warm up temperature during a cold start. The PCM then compares the actual OC temperature to the expected OC temperature model. The difference between the actual and expected temperatures is a ratio. When this ratio exceeds the calibrated value this DTC sets and the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates. | ||

| Diagnostic Aids: | This DTC sets when one or more EGT sensors indicate a value outside a calibrated threshold when compared to the catalyst temperature model. The PCM compares the values from the ambient air temperature (AAT), intake air temperature (IAT), and EGT sensors to the catalyst temperature model. | ||
