DTC P0341: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE (BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR)

Description:  The PCM monitors the camshaft position (CMP) sensor and crankshaft position (CKP) sensor signals during engine cranking. This DTC sets when the CMP signal is inactive while the CKP signal indicates the engine is rotating. The PCM also monitors the CMP sensor signal for electrical noise. This DTC sets when the electrical noise exceeds the calibrated threshold.
Possible Causes:
  • CMP circuit noise
  • CMP circuit open
  • CMP circuit short to ground
  • CMP circuit short to voltage
  • Corrosion
  • Incorrect connection
  • Damaged CMP sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  An inactive CMP signal causes a no start condition. Monitor the CMP_F PID while cranking the engine.
