DTC P012F: Engine Coolant Temperature / Engine Oil Temperature Correlation

DTC P012F: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE / ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE CORRELATION

Description:  This DTC sets when the maximum difference between the engine coolant temperature and the engine oil temperature exceeds the calibrated threshold for a prescribed amount of time.
Possible Causes: 
  • Low engine coolant level
  • Cooling system flow restriction
  • Cooling system pressure loss
  • Damaged engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
  • Damaged engine oil temperature (EOT) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  The threshold value varies between 11°C (20°F) and 17°C (30°F) depending on the speed and load applied to the vehicle.
This DTC is informational only and it may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose other DTCs first.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
