Removal and Installation

Crew Cab vehicles 

  1. Remove the cab rear trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .

    SuperCab vehicles 

  2. Remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEATING .

    All vehicles 

  3. Position the sliding glass to the halfway OPEN position.
  4. Remove the bumpers from the sliding window bracket.

  5. NOTE: Slowly release the spring tension after the cable swag is removed from the sliding glass channel bracket. If the spring tension is suddenly released, the cables can unwind from the drum. If the cables unwind from the drum, a new regulator and motor assembly will have to be installed.
    NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

    Remove the cable swags from the sliding window glass channel bracket.

    • Carefully squeeze the regulator and motor assembly spring to create slack in the cable.
    • Remove the cable swag from the sliding window glass channel bracket.

  6. Manually position the sliding glass to the full OPEN position.
  7. Remove the upper rail filler.
    • Pull down the RH side of the upper filler while carefully sliding it out of the track towards the RH side of the vehicle.

  8. Push the sliding glass upward and tilt the bottom inward to disengage the sliding glass from the track. Remove the sliding glass panel.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
