Pinpoint Test D: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - RH Front

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. D1 CHECK THE RH FRONT POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Attempt to operate the RH front window using the LH front window control switch.
    • Does the RH front window operate when using the LH front window control switch? 
    • Yes  : GO to  D8.
    • No  : GO to D2.
  2. D2 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE POWER WINDOW MOTOR 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Power Window Motor C646.
    • Measure the voltage between RH front power window motor C646-2, circuit SBP03 (BU/RD), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to D3.
    • No  : VERIFY Body Control Module (BCM) fuse 3 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If not OK, REFER to the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. D3 CHECK THE RH FRONT POWER WINDOW MOTOR DELAYED ACCESSORY FEED 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure the voltage between RH front power window motor C646-6, circuit CBP32 (GN/VT), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to D4.
    • No  : VERIFY Body Control Module (BCM) fuse 32 (15A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If not OK, REFER to the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. D4 CHECK THE RH FRONT POWER WINDOW MOTOR GROUND 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Measure the resistance between RH front power window motor C646-1, circuit GD179 (BK/VT), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to D5.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. D5 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH TO RH FRONT MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C537 (regular or SuperCab) or C566A (Crew Cab).
    • Measure the resistance between RH front power window motor and LH front window control switch.
      • For regular or SuperCab, measure the resistance between RH front power window motor C646-7, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side and LH front window control switch C537-4, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side.
      • For Crew Cab, measure the resistance between RH front power window motor C646-7, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side and LH front window control switch C566A-2, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to D6.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. D6 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH TO RH FRONT MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between RH front power window motor and LH front window control switch.
      • For regular or SuperCab, measure the resistance between RH front power window motor C646-3, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side and LH front window control switch C537-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side.
      • For Crew Cab, measure the resistance between RH front power window motor C646-3, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side and LH front window control switch C566A-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to D7.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  7. D7 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Carry out the LH front window control switch component test. Refer to appropriate "OEM Wiring Diagrams Component Testing" article for component testing.
    • Did the window control switch pass the component test? 
  8. D8 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Window Control Switch C624.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure the voltage between RH front window control switch C624-5, circuit CBP32 (GN/VT), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to D9.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  9. D9 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C537 (regular or SuperCab) or C566A (Crew Cab).
    • Measure the resistance between RH front window control switch and LH front window control switch.
      • For regular or SuperCab, measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C624-4, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side and LH front window control switch C537-4, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side.
      • For Crew Cab, measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C624-4, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side and LH front window control switch C566A-2, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : GO to D10.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  10. D10 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between RH front window control switch and LH front window control switch.
      • For regular or SuperCab, measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C624-3, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side and LH front window control switch C537-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side.
      • For Crew Cab, measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C624-3, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side and LH front window control switch C566A-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new RH front window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the RH front power window motor. REFER to WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
