Rear Video

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The rear video camera system visually aids the driver when reversing or reverse parking the vehicle. The rear video camera is controlled by the BCM via a LIN circuit. The system consists of the following:

On vehicles not  equipped with a 203.2 mm (8 in) touchscreen, when the transmission is in REVERSE (R), the image from the rear video camera is displayed in the left portion of the interior auto-dimming rear view mirror. When the system is active, the video output signal is sent from the rear video camera directly to the display that is integrated into the interior auto-dimming rear view mirror.

On vehicles equipped with a 203.2 mm (8 in) touchscreen, when the transmission is in REVERSE (R), the image from the rear video camera is displayed on the FDIM. When the system is active, the video output signal is sent from the rear video camera to the APIM. The APIM then outputs the video signal to the FDIM.
