SYMPTOM CHART - GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • A module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool

  • The speed compensated volume does not operate correctly
  • Refer to the PINPOINT TEST
  • The compass is inoperative or does not operate correctly

  • The audio system does not operate correctly from the FCIM

SYMPTOM CHART - RADIO® SYSTEM

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • Data errors for text display
  • Data error from radio broadcaster
  • This condition is due to the data from the radio broadcaster. ADVISE the customer that the HD Radio® is functioning correctly.
  • Echo, stutter, skip, repeat or volume fluctuation in HD
  • Signal alignment error from radio broadcaster
  • This condition is due to the signal alignment from the radio broadcaster. ADVISE the customer that the HD Radio® is functioning correctly.
  • Sound fading in and out or sound delay
  • Transition between HD and analog
  • This condition is due to the transition between HD and analog caused by a digital signal loss. ADVISE the customer that the HD Radio® must have an available channel in order to output HD content.
  • Sound dropout or channel unavailable in HD2 or HD3
  • HD2 and HD3 do not have analog equivalents causing complete signal loss when HD signal fades
  • This condition is due to the HD2 and HD3 do not have analog equivalents causing complete signal loss when HD signal fades. ADVISE the customer that the HD Radio® must have an available channel in order to output HD content.
SYMPTOM CHART - NAVIGATION (IF EQUIPPED)

  • PERFORM the APIM Reset, REFER to ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM) RESET . If the concern is still present, INSTRUCT the customer to review the device compatibility list. REFER to www.syncmyride.com. It is normal operation for unsupported or incompatible Bluetooth features to be unavailable through the SYNC® system. If the inoperative feature is compatible, ADVISE the customer to check their device for firmware updates, and if required, reset their device following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • 911 Assist™ or Vehicle Health Report (VHR) is inoperative or does not operate correctly
  • Unregistered SYNC® owner account
  • RCM misconfiguration
  • IPC misconfiguration
  • Verify that the customer has a SYNC® Owner Account on www.syncmyride.com. This error message appears due to incomplete or incorrect PMI procedures. CHECK the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the IPC or RCM. If there have been recent service actions with the IPC or RCM, REPEAT/PERFORM the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool. REFER to: MODULE CONFIGURATION . If there have been no recent service actions, REFER to APIM HARDWARE TESTING .
