Pinpoint Test

  1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
    3. Carry out the network test.

    Does the HVAC module pass the network test? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J : The Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE HVAC MODULE SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the HVAC module self-test

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

    1. Yes:

      For DATC, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H : U3003:16, U3003:17.

      For EMTC, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE F : U3003:16, U3003:17.

    2. No: GO to .
  4. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

    1. Yes: For DTC U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BD: U3003:16 .

      For DTC U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BE: U3003:17 .

    2. No: GO to .
  5. RECHECK THE IPC DTCs 
    1. Clear the DTCs  .
    2. Wait 10 seconds.
    3. Repeat the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0424:82 still present? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new HVAC module:

      For EMTC, Refer to HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MODULE , or

      For DATC, Refer to HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MODULE .

      CLEAR the DTCs  . REPEAT the IPC self-test. If DTC U0424:82 is still present, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.

    2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
