Pinpoint Test

1. Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.

Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR? 

1. Yes: GO to 2  .
2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Is DTC U0140:00 recorded? 

1. Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine AV: U0140:00 .
2. No: GO to 3  .

1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Shift the vehicle in and out of PARK (P) while monitoring the PRNDL P indication.

Does the PRNDL display P with the shifter in PARK (P) and turn off when the shifter is out of PARK (P)? 

1. Yes: INSTALL a new BCM:

   REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or

   REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .

2. No: REFER to Diagnostic Routine CK: The PRNDL Indicator Is Never On or Never Displays P .
