Parking Brake Control: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to JACKING AND LIFTING for lifting Points.
  2. Release the tension on the parking brake cable. REFER to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .
  3. Remove the BCM and bracket. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
  4. Remove the scuff plate trim panel and the lower cowl side trim panel. REFER to SCUFF PLATE TRIM PANEL .
  5. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.
  6. Remove the parking brake control nut.
  7. Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.
  8. Position the carpet aside and position the cable conduit grommet through the floor.
  9. Remove the parking brake control and front cable assembly.
