Windshield Glass: Removal

Remove the windshield applique bracket. REFER to APPLIQUE - WINDSHIELD .
Remove the cowl panel grille. REFER to COWL PANEL GRILLE .
Remove the interior A-pillar trim panels. REFER to A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .
Remove the interior rear view mirror. REFER to INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR - AUTO-DIMMING , or INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR - MANUAL-DIMMING .
Remove the overhead console. REFER to CONSOLE - OVERHEAD .
Remove the RH and LH sun visors and clips.
1. Remove sun visor screw cover.
2. Remove both sun visor screws.
3. NOTE: The sun visor electrical connector is glued to the top of the headliner. Position the front of the headliner down to access the sun visor electrical connector.
  
  Disconnect sun visor electrical connector and remove the sun visor.
4. Remove both sun visor clip retaining screws and remove both sun visor clips.
Lower the front portion of the headliner and block with a suitable material.

NOTE: To avoid rust formation, use extreme care not to scratch the paint or primer, or otherwise damage the pinch weld during glass removal.

NOTE: Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the 300-AST1770E while cutting.

NOTE: Insert the blade into the 300-AST1770E so that the flat side is against the glass.

Using the 300-AST1770E , cut the urethane adhesive from the windshield glass starting at the top center and working toward the bottom corners.
Distance the upper windshield glass from the body.
Using the 300-AST1770E , cut the remaining urethane adhesive and remove the windshield glass.
