Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK REAR PASSENGER WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
    NOTE: Make sure the LH front window control switch is in the UNLOCK position.
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Attempt to operate the rear passenger windows from the LH front window control switch.

    Do the rear passenger windows operate from the LH front window control switch? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: For Base, REPAIR circuit CBP01 (BU) for an open.

      For XLT or Limited, GO to  3.

  2. CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH LOCK-OUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504 (XLT, Limited) or C535A (Base).
    3. Disconnect: LH Rear Window Control Switch.
    4. Measure:
      LH Rear Window Control Switch LH Front Window Control Switch

      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      5 CPW14 (VT/WH)

      3 CPW14 (VT/WH)

    Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes: INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
    • No: REPAIR the circuit.
  3. CHECK THE REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER FEED FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM C2280D.
    3. Disconnect: LH Rear Window Control Switch.
    4. Measure:
      LH Rear Window Control Switch Ground

    5. Measure:
      LH Rear Window Control Switch BCM

      1 CBP01 (BU)

      27 CBP01 (BU)

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms between the window control switch and ground; and less than 3 ohms between the window control switch and BCM? 

    • Yes: INSTALL a new BCM circuit breaker 48 (30A).
    • No: REPAIR the circuit.
