Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK FOR STUCK/STICKING ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
    1. Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.

    Do the power windows still operate? 

    • Yes: GO to  3.
    • No: GO to .
  2. CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
    1. Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.

      Refer to OEM Wiring Diagrams - COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.

    Did the accessory delay relay pass the component test? 

    • Yes: GO to  4.
    • No: INSTALL a new accessory delay relay.
  3. CHECK THE DELAYED ACCESSORY RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM C2280D.
    3. Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535B (Base) or C504 (XLT or Limited).
    4. Ignition ON.
    5. Measure:
      BCM Ground
      G08040169
      G08040170
      C2280D Ground
      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      27 CBP01 (BU)
      G08040171
      - Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    • Yes: REPAIR the circuit.
    • No: GO to .
  4. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    3. Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins as necessary
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    4. Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?
