Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH OPERATION
- Open and close the front doors. Verify the interior lights turn on when the doors are open, and off when the doors are closed.
Do the interior lights operate normally?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: INTERIOR LIGHTING .
- CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.
Refer to OEM Wiring Diagrams - COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.
Did the delayed accessory relay pass the component test?
- Yes: For Base, GO to 3
.
For XLT or Limited, GO to 5.
- No: INSTALL a new accessory delay relay.
- CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280D.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535B.
- Measure:
LH Front Window Control Switch Ground C535B Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CBP01 (BU) - Ground - Measure:
LH Front Window Control Switch BCM C535B C2280D Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CBP01 (BU) 27 CBP01 (BU)
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms between the window control switch and ground; and less than 3 ohms between the window control switch and BCM?
- Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
- Ignition OFF.
- Connect: BCM C2280D.
- Connect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535B.
- Install a new BCM circuit breaker 48 (30A).
- Operate each of the power windows.
Do the power windows operate?
- Yes: The system is operating correctly at this time.
- No: GO to 5 .
- CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins as necessary
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS
for any applicable TSBs
. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs
address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM:
REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or
REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
