Seat Backrest - Power: Removal
NOTE:
For component identification and locations, REFER to Seat - Exploded View .
- Pry to release the clips and remove the LH / RH seat outboard pivot cover.
- Pry to release the clips and remove the backrest latch outer cover.
- Pull the release strap through the recliner outer cover, if equipped.
- With the backrest upright, detach the head restraint release cable and conduit from the latch.
- Release the backrest cover lower J-clip, open the cover and separate the inner hook-and-loop strips.
- Route out the head restraint release cable from between the latch and inboard latch cover.
- Remove the pivot bolt.
- To install, tighten to 54 Nm (40 lb-ft).
- Roll the backrest cover up and remove the 2 backrest latch-to-backrest frame bolts. Remove the backrest assembly.
- To install, tighten to 83 Nm (61 lb-ft).
NOTE:
To remove the RH seat backrest, the LH outboard pivot cover must be removed before the RH outboard pivot cover can be removed.
